As volunteer in the Vagus Sx Clinical Trial, you will be randomized into one of two surgical groups.
Truncal vagotomy + gastric bypass

The first procedure involves truncal vagotomy in combination with gastric bypass.
Gastric bypass

The second procedure involves gastric bypass alone, without truncal vagotomy.
Main endpoint of the study: complete remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus one year after surgery
(Complete remission of type 2 diabetes: fasting glucose <100 mg/dl and Hba1c <6% without antidiabetic treatment)
